Brian’s 35th Birthday

Brian turned 35 on the 9th of January. He’s a little older and a little wiser. He chuckled as I reminded him he is a middle aged, balding, 30 something father with 4 kids and driving a minivan. He has definitely changed and grown as a father. This year, I asked him where he would like to go for his birthday. I told him I had invited his parents, had a babysitter and was ready for a night out on the town. His reply was that he wanted to whole family to come, cancel the babysitter, and we were headed to Red Robin. Much to the kids delight we all went on that rainy night to the Red Robin where the kids were showered with crayons and french fries, and departed with balloons. Afterwards, the kids had made a giant cupcake for him decorated to a degree they “thought” he would approve. He happily swallowed the difficult-to-eat cake and gave each of his kids a hug.

 Happy Birthday Love!

  1. It was a great day, Jill. I remember what Brian said when he became a father for the first time. I never remember exact words, but something like – You know, there’s a part of yourself you don’t even know about, that you didn’t even use, til you have kids. I am so glad he feels that deep love for his very special children.

  2. That is really cute. Golly I love my brother.
